Debbie is a trained textile designer and has worked in textiles design studios and as an art and textiles teacher during her career. She is currently a practising textile artist specialising in freehand embroidery. She produces stitched landscapes of the South Oxfordshire countryside; Chiltern views, snow laden landscapes, bluebell woods, picturesque poppy fields and late summer silhouettes.
She participates in Oxfordshire artweeks and was selected to exhibit at the Oxford Open at the Jam Factory this May. Her large embroidery of a wood in the snow won the runner up prize at this exhibition.
The constant changing landscape around her home here in Oxfordshire offers endless possibilities. The fields and woods differ every week and offer a never-ending source of inspiration for her embroidered work.
