Robyn Hardyman works with porcelain, making functional and decorative wheel-thrown vessels – bowls, vases, jugs and more. Elegant and balanced shapes define the pared back simplicity of her work. She is drawn to porcelain’s delicacy and strength, and the pure surface it offers for glazes. Her pieces are thrown to a thin and delicate finish, and she relishes exploring glaze colours and textures that complement the simplicity of their forms. Her colour palette is cool, blues, greys, pale greens and creams – calming and harmonious.
Robyn works from her studio in Oxford. After a 3-year course at Oxford City College she set up her own home studio. She is a regular exhibitor at Oxfordshire Artweeks, and has exhibited at many events such as Handmade in Oxford, Handmade in Chelsea, Celebrating Ceramics and the Craft Festival. She is a member of Find a Maker, the curated collection of fine craft makers, the Oxfordshire Crafts Guild, London Potters, and the Crafts Council Directory. In Thame her work is available for sale at the interiors shop FROM.
